Organizations

An organization is the top-level container in deploydiff. All projects, members, and billing belong to an organization.

Creating an organization

Head to the dashboard and click New organization. Give it a name and deploydiff will:

  1. Create the organization and generate a URL-safe slug from its name.
  2. Make you the Owner.
  3. Start your first billing period and assign the Discovery plan.

The number of Discovery-plan organizations you can belong to is limited. If you cannot create another, use an existing one or upgrade one of them.

Capturing the same domain from several Discovery-plan organizations to multiply the free allowance — at the same time, or one after another by deleting and recreating them — is not allowed. It is detected, and the organizations involved are deleted.

Members and roles

Every user in an organization holds exactly one of three roles:

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerFull control — billing, deletion, member management
AdminCreate and manage projects; invite and manage org members
MemberAccess projects they have been explicitly added to

You can invite people by email from the Members page of your organization. Pending invitations are listed there until accepted. Removing a user from the organization also removes their access to all projects within it.

Settings

From the organization settings page an Owner can rename the organization or delete it permanently. Deleting an organization removes all its projects, environments, pages, and batch history, and ends access for all its members. An organization can be deleted once it is on the Discovery plan with no invoice left to pay — see Deleting an organization.

Billing

The Billing page (visible to Owners and Admins) shows your current plan, the payment account, and a history of billing periods with their usage and total cost. A billing period lasts one month. Owners change the plan from this page: an upgrade applies immediately, and a downgrade applies at the next renewal — or right away when moving to the Discovery plan.
