How usage is priced

On paid plans, every capture, comparison and stored image is metered at these rates. Your base fee covers that much usage each month — $25 on Team, $125 on Business — and you pay only for what goes beyond it.

Active CPU: Processor time actually used while a page is captured or two captures are compared.; $0.64per hour
Memory: Memory reserved for the environment the work runs in, billed by the started minute, one minute minimum.; $0.106per GB-hour
Data transfer: Data the environment sends out.; $0.75per GB
Environment start: Each capture starts one environment, and so does each comparison — except one between two captures identical byte for byte.; $0.003per thousand
Image storage: Screenshots, thumbnails and comparison images, for as long as they are kept.; $0.023per GB-month

A capture runs in an environment with about 2 GB of memory, and so does a comparison — about 4 GB when its captures are taller than 16,000 px or larger than 16 million pixels. Memory being billed by the started minute, a capture or a comparison costs at least $0.0035 in memory, and a comparison of larger captures at least $0.007, before CPU and data transfer.
Two captures identical byte for byte are compared by their hash, with no environment started, so no computation is billed for that comparison.
A heavier or slower page uses more CPU and more minutes, so it costs more than a light one.
A capture that fails because of your page — no response, an error status, or a page that does not finish loading in time — is charged for what it used. A failure on our side is not charged.
On the free Discovery plan nothing is ever charged: usage counts against a fixed monthly allowance instead, and captures pause when it is used up.
Rates are in US dollars and exclude taxes. We announce any change at least 30 days in advance.
Each capture and comparison shows its cost on its own page, and your usage page totals them. That recorded cost is what you are charged.
